Our vision since season 7 has been to involve more and more people from our music industry and make this platform a collective dream. When we presented the idea to Coca-Cola, they loved it and were fully supportive. It was a challenging task and our guidance was required throughout the process, but today we are extremely satisfied that we took this initiative.”

The unrivaled success of Coke Studio over the years in connecting deeply and emotionally with the people and especially the youth, is evident from its immense digital footprint with 6.3 million fans on Facebook, more than 170 million YouTube views and 7.5 million plus audio streams. It is viewed by fans in some 150 countries and has been exported to 20 countries. In Pakistan it has proved to be a unique platform for high profile projection of everyone associated with the music industry, including singers, back up vocalists, composers, producers, musicians and technical persons of every possible specialty, without whose invaluable contribution no Season could have been produced.

Mobilink Outsources Call Centers to Ibex Global

Mobilink outsources Call centers

In a strategic decision, Mobilink outsources calls centers to Ibex Global. Which is a wholly owned subsidiary of ‘The Resource Group’ (TRG) International and Mindbridge. The deal will see Ibex Global retain Mobilink’s current contact center staff on similar financial remunerations, and Mobilink has ensured that there will be no loss of jobs.

The move follows an industry-wide practice to outsource portions of customer care services for better operational efficiency and improved customer experiences.

Speaking about this decision, Aamir Ibrahim, CCO – Mobilink, stated,

“We are confident that this strategic alliance with Ibex Global and TRG will enhance the customer experience and also accelerate the career progression for many of our current employees.”

Nauman Fakhar, Head of Call Centers said,

“This strategic decision has been made while ensuring the employee welfare. This outsourcing has been an unprecedented exercise where we have made sure that the interests of all our employees are safeguarded. I am confident that our outsourced employees will greatly benefit from this transaction and will have fulfilling careers at our outsource partners while our customers will get the highest quality of customer experience that they associate with Mobilink.”

Nadeem Elahi, CEO of IBEX Global Pakistan, said:

“We are very excited about our partnership with Mobilink”. IBEX is not only amongst Pakistan’s largest exporter of IT-enabled services but a leader in providing Business Process Outsourcing Solutions to renowned brands across the globe. With Mobilink, IBEX is proud to work with 4 out of the 5 mobile telecom operators in the country which is a testament to our industry experience and service quality.”

In a similar move last year, Mobilink outsourced a small portion of its call center staff to the internationally acclaimed Business Service Providers as a pilot. After carefully analyzing the benefits of that move, for customers and the employees, Mobilink then decided to fully outsource its Karachi and Islamabad based contact centers.

As Mobilink places the welfare of its employees at the core of its business strategy, the Telco has ensured that the entire outsourcing process is transparent, and all the employees are informed of the transition beforehand. The move will help the outsourced employees in developing their skillsets, as they will be exposed to new challenges and opportunities to further their careers in a dynamic and global business environment.

Amjad Sabri – RIP

AmjadSabri, Amjad Sabri

I’ll start this by saying Rest in Peace Amjad Sabri. May Allah Grant you highest Ranks in Jannah. Having said that, I don’t say I was your biggest fan or anything like that. I don’t know you personally, haven’t ever met not even remotely connected. Just that, today when I saw your name trending on Twitter . I was shocked to learn about your sad demise. I felt terrible as if a dear one departed that too – shot dead. I can’t imagine what your family, friends and acquaintances would be going through. Thoughts and prayers for them.

All I know is when I entered home from office, my mom told me with teary eyes “see what they did to Amjad Sabri”. She was cursing your murders and praying for your maghfirat. Speaking from religious perspective, passing away in Ramazan is like a desirable death for Muslims.

I don’t know how big a star, Qawwal or cultural artist you were and it doesn’t even matter now. Stars never die its the human being who departs. Today we mourn that human being who has departed leaving behind the legacy of Sabri Family.  Everywhere on the television and social media people are heart-broken, mourning Amjad Sabri regardless of taste in music or any other affiliation etc. This surely means you were a great human being than a qawwal.

Sadness is in the air, whole nation is in a state of shock and mourning. Today Exactly depicts that verse someone wrote decades ago:

کچھ اس ادا سے بچھڑا کہ رُت ہی بدل گئی

اک شخص سارے شہر کو ویران کرگیا

May Allah give your family patience and ability to bear this loss. May Allah have mercy on us all. May Allah protect us all in this Holy month of Ramazan. Things at Karachi are getting worse again. Lets pray to the Almighty for peace and prosperity in our homeland specially Karachi.

I will end this post with video-link to that beautiful kalam Amjad Sabri recited this very Sehri on Sama Tv. Seems like Allah Almighty has listened to his prayers and granted him what he’s praying for:

Amjad Sabri’s last kalam

Note – Please refrain from posting those raw-blood stained images. Amjad Sabri has always been a smiley jolly person. Seeing him soaked in bllod is extremely disturbing. Also we should have some respect for the slain.

Update:

Season 9 of Coke Sutdio featuring Amjad Sabri. The maestro recorded a qawwali alongside Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for Coke Studio 9 (set to release soon).

Nurpur ad, Nurpur Ramazan ad, Nurpur Milk ad

Those creatively styled food images complemented by melodious background music does the magic. Model, Sadaf Kanwal appears in between the food-images tasting different items and giving flirty smiles [very aptly put as “Nurpur Seductive TVC for Ramadan 2016 Campaign” by Branding in Asia].

Nurpur Ad – Video

It is worth mentioning here that Nurpur ad is a cluster-breaking effort. This clearly stands ahead of competition. Regardless of technical aspects, this new ad does grab your attention. This Nurpur ad does’t feature any single product like milk or cheese or desi ghee. Ad features all the products hence, communicating a corporate message. Creatively styled-food images of traditional Pakistani food with tagline “Some Traditions are Forever”

I don’t know if they have met their commercial objectives or not, but surely have positioned their brand really well. Although I myself have visited few markets to find out Nurpur milk’s sale/demand has risen after the ad was on-air. Brand and creative team has really done a commendable job not joining the bandwagon.

As a marketing student I hope to see our food & beverage companies to come up with such creative ads in coming future.
