Safeguard Health and Hygiene Movement Takes Pakistan by Storm Once Again


Commander Safeguard’s latest Mission Clean-sweep adventure is finally out for all to see! The new “Jungle Main Mungle” episode is not only HILARIOUS but also a testimony to the amazing talent Pakistan has to offer!

The animation has a star-studded cast including Alyy Khan as Commander Safeguard, Ahmad Ali Butt as Dirtoo, Bahroze Sabzwari as Ghunsanna and Bushra Ansari as Dirty.

It also has incredibly sophisticated animation technology, and a song we just can’t get out of our heads (thanks Shuja Haider and Ahmad Ali Butt). The brand hasn’t stopped at entertaining us though.

Continuing their Sehat o Safai School Education Program, this Independence Day Safeguard has pledged to educate 2 million kids across Pakistan on importance of health and hygiene.

This pledge is part of a larger mission Safeguard has been leading since 2002 to empower kids to become health and hygiene champions. Perhaps the hallmark of this campaign was the birth of Pakistan’s first superhero, Commander Safeguard, created to augment educational material on health and hygiene.  Commander Safeguard series ended up doing much more than revolutionizing health and hygiene education though: it transformed Pakistan’s animation industry, and also became an international phenomenon. Safeguard, as the pioneer in animated series, also partnered with 3 Bahadur, an animated movie production by Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, again revolutionizing the perception of heroes to Pakistani youth everywhere.

Commander Safeguard and the associated Safeguard School Education Program are great examples of how private sector brains can contribute to public sector good. Over the years Safeguard has educated 12 million+ kids at the grassroot, primary school level with special support in this cause from key partners Pakistan Medical Association and Infectious Diseases Society of Pakistan. This year again, Safeguard Mission Cleansweep will be playing in schools starting 15th Sep.

Safeguard has stayed true to its cause of spreading the message of health and hygiene, and also to ensure we stay entertained throughout the way. BodyBeat Events & PR and Empact Activations, the creators of #CornettoPopRock are ecstatic to announce the launch of their third music video nation-wide! The funky rock song #PYARWYAR sung by Quratulain Baloch (aka QB) featuring Noori is written by QuratulainBalouch herself. The psychedelic music video is fantastically directed by Amaan Ahmed from Uncutstudios while BeenishPervaz and Munib Nawaz do the rock star yet simplistic styling and wardrobe respectively. The concept of the video may have been brewed by BB Events & PR and Empact Activations but beautifully brought to life by the directorial team at Uncut Studios.

Quratulain Balouch has been widely recognized as one of the leading female vocalists in Pakistan. She has received several national awards over the years including Lux Style Award for Song of the year in 2012, Lux Style Awards for Best original track in 2012, Pakistan Media Awards 2012, Hum Awards in 2013 and Achievement Award in 2013. QB comments at the live concert.

Music for this song has been composed by BIY records. The song ‘PYAR WYAR’ is QB’s first attempt at writing her own lyrics and composing her own melody.

Talking about this new release, Amaan Ahmed, the director of the video said,

‘this song is all about emancipation and practicing the freedom to live and explore everything that the world has to offer. The fit of this song in all its lyrical genius is such a perfect marriage with Cornetto, as the brand too primarily focuses on youngsters daring to live and love and explore different avenues of freedom around them. I wanted this video to be hip, funky, colorful and loud, much like the poprock composition of this song and the hip and happening feel of the brand. McDonalds’ Opened its Doors

McDonald’s literally open doors for its customers to a one-of–a kind hygiene initiative at their Sea View branch, Karachi. Several diseases being spread in our nation are caused by unhygienic food-preparations-methods.

The Chain first opened its doors in September 1998 in Lahore; proving its dedication towards health. There are currently 38 restaurants in 12 major cities of Pakistan. It has plans to expand their leadership position through great tasting food, superior service, everyday value and convenience. Cornetto Pop Rock – Season 1 [Islamabad]

BB Events & PR & Empact Activations hosted the grand and majestic Finale of the national series of concerts for #CornettoPopRock. Still to come, are six music videos that will ignite the fans of Pop and Rock all over the world. The Finale concert hosted over 5,000 students from all over Islamabad who witnessed history in the making. The star-studded line up kept the audience roaring for 3.5 hours at a stretch. Anoushey Ashraf started the show with Islamabad auditions winner, Sami Qureshi (from AIR University), followed by rocking performances by Zoe Viccaji, Umair Jaswal , Noori and Ali Azmat. If that’s not enough, #CornettoPopRock showcased a one-of-a-kind light show that has only been witnessed in international concerts aboard. The biggest surprise of this star studded night was, the very popular Quratulain Baloch joining Noori on stage to unveil their QB’s solo track for #CorenttoPopRock. And that’s not all, #CornettoPopRock showcased 4 brand new tracks at this concert. Two solos by Noori, and Ali Azmat and two duets of ‘Umair Jaswal and Zoe Viccaji’ & ‘Ali Azmat and Noori’. Never has Islamabad witnessed so much energy, enthusiasm and excitement!

#CornettoPopRock is a series of concerts that will take place once a year in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad specifically for university students.

The concept behind this platform is to revive the pop & rock culture among the youth. The 2016 line up of performers includes maestros of the music fraternity such as Ali Azmat, Komal Rizvi, Noori, Umair Jaswal, Quratulain Baloch & Zoe Viccaji.  There will also be two spectacular wild card performances by Q from JoSh and the Pakistani superstar Ali Zafar.

The daring playfulness of Cornetto provides the young adults of Pakistan a much-needed platform to express their feelings and passions. Music is a form of art that gives expression to what cannot be put into words, as well as what cannot remain silent. Cornetto has been associated with promoting young local talent since 2008 when it partnered with leading bands to release songs, followed by Cornetto Music Icons and very recently, the much celebrated film Karachi Se Lahore.

Given the brand’s historic association with the music scenario in Pakistan, it is proud to announce Cornetto Pop Rock for the youth of the country, a platform dedicated to reviving music in Pakistan, armored with an ensemble cast of artistes unlike any other. #cornettopoprock is set to release 6 Music Videos in May/June/July 2016 which includes three duets and three singles by Pakistan’s biggest pop and rock idols. The duets include, for the first time ever the two rock legends Ali Azmat and Noori, the first international collaboration of Q from JoSh and Komal Rizvi, and the much-awaited Umair Jaswal and Zoe Viccaji. The singles will include songs by Ali Azmat, Noori and Quratulain Baloch.  The six music videos are conceptualized by Empact Activations and BB Events & PR and will be directed by the one and only Amaan Ahmed from Uncut Studios.

#Cornettopoprock will not only be showcasing the POP-ROCK culture through its music talent but also styling by Pakistan’s most renowned designers. The panel of designers includes Nomi Ansari, Deepak Perwani, Munib Nawaz, and Aamna Aqueel, with make up by celebrity stylist Beenish Pervaiz in Karachi and Juju from Tony n Guy in Lahore.

#Cornettopoprock opened its doors to university bands by providing them a larger then life opportunity to open shows in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Auditions for the bands were held in three cities; only to choose the most deserving talent to open the #cornettopoprock concerts. These university bands will be given the opportunity to share the stage with Pakistani legends and showcase their talent.
